I prefer to use community supplies. In the past, children have lost, shared, or broken their materials. This caused children to not have the resources needed midway through the year. It can be difficult to find some of the school supplies in February. By using a community supply, children aren't arguing over the fact that someone "took" their special pencil. If their markers die, I can replace the marker rather than asking you to replace the entire box midway through the year. And hopefully, these supplies won't end up lost in the "black hole" that can be their desks. Anything you might be able to donate to help supply our class needs is genuinely appreciated, however not mandatory to purchase.
The following supplies are for classroom community usage:
Pencils- Plain yellow
Pencil Cap erasers
Black Sharpies
Glue Sticks
Expo Markers
Highlighters
Markers- Fat and Skinny (any color variety)
Crayons
Colored Pencils
Important Personal Supplies:
Ear Buds or Headphones- We use these many times a week. Please ensure your child brings a pair in and puts it in a labeled Ziploc bag. You will get these back at the end of the year.
Donated items throughout the year:
Paper Towels
Tissues
Baby Wipes or hand wipes
Clorox wipes
Band-Aids
Spoons and Forks
